TheWrap, the leading digital news source for entertainment and media, today released its inaugural ChangeMakers List: Women Who Saved Entertainment in 2020 as part of its Third Annual Power Women Summit, taking place December 8-10, 2020. The ChangeMakers list honors the women who made an impact in the entertainment community as the industry was brought to a staggering halt during a year marked by unprecedented challenges.
Comprised of a select group of women ranging in age from 16 to 86, the ChangeMakers List includes luminaries like Regina King, Sophia Loren, Selena Gomez, Savannah Guthrie, Megan Thee Stallion and Charli D’Amelio. The list also spotlights bold female executives who said yes to stories that mattered, the producers, directors and actors who brought those stories to life, as well as those who influenced in short, spirited, and socially distanced ways.
“In rising to meet the unprecedented challenges of this year, the thirty women on this list have transcended their roles as entertainers, leaders and performers,” said Sharon Waxman, founder and CEO of TheWrap. “As cultural second responders they’ve changed the way we think about and consume the entertainment that shapes our lives. But even more importantly, they’ve changed how we relate to one another.”
