The White Tiger nominated for Writers Guild Award; here are the nominees
The nominations for the Writers Guild of America Awards 2021 were announced earlier today, and Ramin Bahrani’s screenplay for Netflix’s The White Tiger, starring Priyanka Chopra, has been nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.
Many fan favourites like Judas and the Black Messiah, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and Sound of Metal also found a place on the list. However, due to the strict guidelines in the WGA about membership, many popular titles like Soul, Mank, and Nomadland were deemed ineligible for the award and failed to make the list.
The Writers Guild Awards are bestowed annually to honour outstanding writing in film, television, new media, news (broadcast and digital), radio/audio, and promotional categories. This year’s Writers Guild Awards will be held on March 21.
