The 74th Directors Guild of America Awards (DGA) took place on Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
And while comedian and filmmaker Judd Apatow served as the host, the annual event was not televised but it did mark a return to live audience members after having gone virtual in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the celebrities on hand to serve as presenters: actors Kristen Dunst and fiance Jesse Plemons , who are among two couples to be nominated for Academy Awards this year for their performances in The Power Of The Dog.

The annual ceremony honors the outstanding directorial achievement in feature films, documentary, television and commercials of 2021.
Dunst, 39, hit the red carpet in an off-white dress that fell to just above her pointed black heels.
She covered up with a black velvet blazer that was cinched in at the waist with a black floral belt to help showcase her toned waistline.
The star of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, which began in 2002 starring Tobey Maguire as the crime-fighting Peter Parker/Spider-Man, wore her blonde tresses long and with natural waves and a part on the slight left.

Plemons, 33, struck a number of poses alongside his ladylove decked out in a rustic-brown suit with a matching dress shirt that he wore without a tie.
The former Breaking Bad star rounded out his classy outfit by wearing black dress shoes and by having his golden blonde hair pushed back off his face.
The couple started dating back in 2016 after meeting on the set of Fargo, and they would eventually get engaged the following year but have not yet set a date for their wedding.

Earlier in 2022, Dunst received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for The Power Of The Dog, while her beau Plemons got a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance in the Western psychological drama, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the leading man role.
The other couple to get Academy Award nominations in 2022 are Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
By the end of the evening, Jane Campion would score the top DGA Award for The Power Of the Dog.
Apatow, 54, had previous played host for the DGA’s in 2018 and again in 2020,
Tops: Dunst and Plemons sandwiched Jane Campion, who came out on top of the theatrical feature film category over Maggie Gyllenhaal, Paul Thomas Anderson, Kenneth Branag and Steven Spielberg and Denis Villeneuve
