Here’s why Chunky Panday didn’t accompany daughter Ananya Panday to the Filmfare Awards – Times of India
That Ananya Panday has established herself as a name to reckon with in Bollywood is known by now. After making a successful debut in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of The Year 2’, which also starred Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria, Ananya followed it up with ‘Pati Patni Aur Who’, which featured Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. The young actress was last seen in ‘Khaali Peeli’ opposite Ishaan Khatter and is currently shooting for Shakun Batra’s untitled film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Siddhanth Chaturvedi.
One of the busiest actresses of her generation, Ananya won the coveted Best Debut trophy at the Filmfare Awards earlier this year. Intriguingly, it was her mother Bhavana Panday, who accompanied her for the award function. Her father, Chunky Panday was conspicuous by his absence. In a recent interview, the actor, known best for his comic timing, revealed that he considers himself to be jinxed when it comes to award shows, which is why he chose not to go for the Filmfare Awards in Guwahati when Ananya was nominated. He said that he had never won the award in his 34-year long career, and that he was delighted when his daughter scooped one in her very first year of entering the industry. Ananya won the award for her work in film ‘Student of The Year 2’.
