Octavia Spencer knows good drama.
The Academy Award-wininng actress took to social media after Smoke Monday’s performance in the third quarter of the Auburn-Tennessee on Saturday night.
Monday, an Auburn junior defensive back, picked off Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano returned it 100 yards for a touchdown.
The pick 6 gave Auburn a 20-10 lead with 2:21 left in the third quarter.
Spencer, an Auburn alumni, Montgomery native and “Hidden Figures” star, gave the play two thumbs up on Saturday night.
The Vols were in the midst of a 10-play, 63-yard drive, but Monday changed the dynamic of the drive and the game with the interception.
Spencer, meanwhile, has always stayed close to her home state.
She has helped her home state during the coronavirus crisis. She also recorded a three-minute message to Auburn University’s class of 2020.
